Gamaliel Ayeyemi Foundation (GAF) advocates for children with sickle cell disease (SCD). This includes raising awareness, educating the public, and working to improve healthcare.
Our Advocacy efforts:
- Providing routine medication for SCD patients. (This takes place every Thursday at the Sickle Cell Clinic of Adeoyo State Hospital in Ibadan, Nigeria.)
- Raising awareness about SCD
- Educating the public about SCD
- Working to end the stigma of SCD
- Helping children with SCD navigate medical intervention
- Linking people with SCD to community resources
- Working to improve healthcare outcomes for children with SCD
Advocacy goals:
- Ensuring children with SCD know they are not alone
- Increasing community support for children with SCD
- Creating a more informed public about SCD
- Improving access to care for children with SCD
